PATRICK SMITH
Head of Visualization
Patrick Smith is Head of Visualization at Square One, having recently joined the team after five years leading the Visualization department at MPC. In that time, he has spearheaded several major motion features films such as Chip N’ Dale: Rescue Rangers for Disney and Transformers: Rise of the Beast for Paramount. The Visualization department, in his direction, has also worked on several award-winning projects such as Dune: Part Two, Prehistoric Planet Seasons 1 and 2, Jordan Peele’s Nope, and many other feature length and episodic projects.
Patrick continues to push the medium here through real-time tools and workflows, building a strong yet nimble pipeline, bringing cutting-edge tech to traditional previs, elevating quality, expediency, and efficiency that clients have come to expect in this field. His vision to create a shorthand between visualization and layout as a partner within the VFX team has built a bridge with award-winning teams to ensure early creative decisions are retained throughout the finals pipeline.
Smith has held a number of senior positions within the industry. Prior to joining the Square One and MPC, Patrick served as one of the few veteran Creative Director/Senior Visualization Supervisors at The Third Floor. While there for over a decade, Patrick Smith has combined his vast artistic and film-making talent to lead visualization teams on titles such as Jungle Cruise, Bumblebee, Aquaman, Spiderman: Homecoming, Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 2, and The Secret Life of Walter Mitty.
